ABOUT
I am a mixed-media artist whose work bridges the gap between classical influence and the subconscious. Born in Winchester and fascinated by art from a very early age, I formalised my craft studying Fine Art at art college for many years.
My aesthetic is informed by the dramatic intensity of the Old Masters such as Hieronymus Bosch, Caravaggio, Theodore Gericault and Francisco Goya and offers a contemporary interpretation of their traditional techniques. However, my most profound source of inspiration lies in my own dreams - many of which have proven to be prophetic. By translating these internal visions into tangible, multi-layered works, I invite viewers into a world that is as mysterious as it is meticulously crafted. Eschewing set timescales, I allow each piece to dictate its own pace, with the complexity and scale of the work guiding its eventual completion.
I have notably exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London, which is a major hub for contemporary figurative art and home to the Federation of British Artists. My style fits within the tradition of dark, expressive portraiture often showcased in the gallery's annual exhibitions, such as those held by the Royal Institute of Oil Painters or the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
